The Desha Putra Sammanaya (දේශ පුත්ර සමිමානය, dēśa putra sammānaya, "Son of the Country Award") is a Sri Lankan military decoration, equivalent to United States Purple Heart that awarded to those who are killed or wounded in combat.

The medal is granted to all ranks of the Army, Navy the Air Force and members of the Sri Lanka Police Service who are wounded in action in the face of the enemy and who are recommended by the Commander of the Army, the Commander of the Navy or the Commander of the Air Force or receive the award under the terms and conditions defined in the regulations of the respective warrant.
Awarded to all ranks of the three services persons wounded in action in the face of the enemy and such injury is classified at least as “Moderately Severe” or killed as a consequence of such injury.
